Professional Alcoholism Treatment

Inpatient or outpatient, professional alcoholism treatment
can be a simple choice. If there are no beds, or you don't have
the money to pay for a bed, than its outpatient. If there are
beds and you can afford it, inpatient might be for you. I tend
to think
inpatient should be a last resort. It is where you go when
you can't do it any other way.
Outpatient, on the other hand, is much less expensive and
considerably easier to get into. Both types of treatment are
run by professional counselors. There is also individual
counseling.
Individual counseling is just talking to your shrink.
Hopefully someone who has a background in addictions.
Both inpatient and outpatient treatment will also refer you
to your community self help groups. Indeed, the ongoing
support, the real work for the drunk, happens in the self help
groups. Anyone can keep you away from alcohol if they lock you
up in their rehabilitation center. It's a lot harder to keep
you sober when your back in the community, have money in your
pocket, and the liquor store is just down the street. Click a
