MAST Alcohol Test

This is the MAST alcohol test. The Michigan Alcohol Screening Test (MAST).

It is a tool to help you assess your drinking. It is a psychological test so it is subject to interpretation. Answer the question based on the last 12 months and on what usually happens. Not on an isolated incident. Unless you have a legal problem, be sure to remember that you are the person who decides if you have a problem. 

If you do have a legal problem they are going to use a much more sophisticated set of assessment tools than this. Although, the MAST alcoholism test will probably be given to develop an idea of how you perceive your alcohol use. The MAST alcoholism test is a quick way for the authorities to see if you have a problem.

11. Have you ever gotten into trouble at work because of drinking?

12. Have you ever lost a job because of drinking?

13. Have you ever neglected your obligations, your family, or your work for two or more days in a row because you were drinking?

21. Have you been arrested more than once for driving under the influence of alcohol?
