Getting arrested for drunk driving isn't fun. And this guy didn't hurt
anyone or anything. It could have been much worse.Intoxicated drivers affect everyone on or near
our streets. Pedestrian's, passenger's in cars, bicyclist's, other driver's,
people'sproperty, drunk
driver's themselves, the drunk driver's family, the victim's family. Everyone. It goes on and on.
No one is immune. So I wanted
to give you some information on what over 159 million Americans admit to doing each year. 159 million
people who wouldprobably tell
you drinking and driving is a bad thing. (Numbers fromCenter for Disease Control website.)There is a section onfield sobriety
tests. There are videos on how they are administered (cop
training videos) as well as how they arefailed. The training videos are fairly boring (they're short) but
essential viewing for the drunk drivers out there. There is a section ondrunk driving
statistics. Not surprisingly, less than 1% of the people who
said they had driven intoxicated werearrested. I can vouch for this. I have driven intoxicated hundreds of times and
only been arrested twice. And those arrests were over10 years apart. If it's related to drunk driving it will be
put here.
